Hi Deepa,
I think readymade dresses may not fit marapachi bommai. There may be some people who can do it for you the way you want. I have dressed my marapachi myself.
In Bangalore quite a few shops in Gandhi bazaar and Jayanagar 4th block can dress up your marapachi. Not sure about Chennai (moved to Chennai recently).
In my opinion, if you want your marapachi to have changeable dresses, then you have to put lot of effort in getting it a perfect look. The accessories anyway have to be redone everytime you want to change because of the shape of the bommai. Otherwise they have to be stuck with fevicol or quickfix – one time event.

I think the classes target women who are home makers and childern as they have spare time to learn extra things. If a man approaches these classes, I think they will definitely accommodate him too.
Similarly, so many tailoring classes target only girls’ dresses or blouses/salwars for women. I need a GENUINE class for boys’ wear. variety of shirts, full pants, half pants with different materials with specific details on hoe to manage rough cloths with the fussy home tailoring machines.
